By talking about how you have resolved challenges, you show an employer how adaptable you are in all situations and how you’re not scared to problem solve. “Adaptability and emotional intelligence are the most in-demand soft skills right now, as employers want people who can champion change and inspire others,” explains Victoria McLean, CEO and founder of career consultancy City CV. “I always remind candidates of the art of storytelling here. Share moments where you made a difference. Did you solve a tricky problem or lead a team to new heights? Have you diffused conflicts by listening empathetically? Those kinds of stories speak volumes.”
